    Task 1. In groups, think of some traffic signs to display around your school. Use the following prompts or your own ideas. 

    Road signs display

    • Should there be a speed limit in the playground?
    • Should there be a 'one way' sign in the corridors?
    • Should there be a traffic light sign at the school gate?

    Lời giải:

    “Go” sign: Biển báo được phép đi 

    “One way” sign: Biển báo một chiều 

    "Stop” sign: Biển báo dừng lại

    Traffic light sign: Biển báo đèn giao thông

    “Speed limit 50”: Biển báo giới hạn tốc độ 50

    - Should there be a speed limit in the playground? -  Yes.

    (Nên có biển báo giới hạn tốc trong trong sân trường không? - Có.)

    - Should there be a "one way: sign in the corridors? - No

    (Nên có biển báo một chiều ở hành lang không? - Không.)

    - Should there be a traffic light at the school gate? - No

    (Nên có biển báo đèn giao thông ở cổng trường không? - Không.)

    Task 2. Make some of these traffic signs of your own out of paper, cardboard or other materials. 

    Task 3. Show them to your group or class and say: 

    What it is? 

    What it tells people to do/ not to do, warns people about, or gives information about.

    OUTLINE OF A PRESENTATION

    Teachers should instruct students how to give a presentation. 

    1. Structure of a presentation

    • Introduction: greeting the audience, introducing themselves and the topic

    • Main body: presenting the main points (students can build up the main points by answering the questions and organising the answers in a logical way)

    • Conclusion: summarising the main points, inviting questions from the audience  and thanking the audience for listening.

    2. Useful language

    • Introduction

    - Greeting (Hello/ Hi/ Good morning/ Good afternoon)

    - Introducing themselves (My name is…. These are my team members: ……)

    - Introducing the topic (Today we are going to talk about…/ Have you ever thought about…?/ Have you ever seen…?/ Have a look at this picture. It shows…/ How does the picture make you feel?)

    • Main body

    - Presenting the main points (Firstly/ Secondly/ Another point is…/ In addition…)

    • Conclusion

    - Summarising the main points (To sum up/ To conclude/ In short/ All in all…)

    - Inviting questions (Are there any questions?/ Does anyone want to know more about…?/ Feel free to ask us anything./ Is there anything you would like to ask?...)

    - Thanking the audience (Thank you/ Thanks for listening/ Thanks for your time./ Thank you for your attention…)

    Lời giải:

    This is “Speed limit 50” sign. It tells people not to drive more than 50 km an hour. 

    (Đây là biển báo “Giới hạn tốc độ 50”. Nó báo cho mọi người không lái xe hơn 50km/giờ.)

    This is “School a head” sign. It warns people about children crossing the road.

    (Đây là biển báo: “Trường học ở phía trước”. Nó cảnh báo mọi người về trẻ em đi qua đường.)

    Task 4. Display your signs in the appropriate places in or around school.
