1. Look at the pictures. Write the problem below the picture of each patient.
2. Now, read the doctor’s notes about his patients and fill in the missing words.
3. Role-play the meeting with the doctor. Use the cues in 1, 2 or your own health problems.
4. Choose a health problem. Work in groups. Tell your group about the last time you had that problem.
5. Listen and circle the words you hear.

6. Listen and underline the word(s) with the /f/ or /v/ sounds. Then say the sentences.

Đáp án:

- Patient 1: She looks very red. She was outdoors all day yesterday. I think she has sunburn.

(Bệnh nhân 1: Cô ấy trông rám nắng, đỏ da. Cô ấy đã ở bên ngoài suốt ngày hôm qua. Tôi nghĩ cô ấy bị cháy nắng.)

- Patient 2: He keeps sneezing and coughing. I think he has flu.

(Bệnh nhân 2: Anh ấy cứ ngạt mũi và ho. Tôi nghĩ anh ấy bị cảm cúm.)

- Patient 3: He looks so tired. He can’t keep his eyes open! He’s very hot too – he has a temperature.

(Bệnh nhân 3: Anh ấy trông rất mệt. Anh ấy không thể mở mắt ra được! Anh ấy cũng rất nóng - anh ấy bị sốt rồi.)

- Patient 4: He ate some seafood yesterday. Now he feels sick. He says he has a stomachache too.

(Bệnh nhân 4: Anh ấy đã ăn hải sản ngày hôm qua. Bây giờ anh ấy cảm thấy mệt. Anh nói anh ấy bị đau bụng nữa.)

- Patient 5: He is holding his neck. I think he has a sore throat.

(Bệnh nhân 5: Anh ấy đang ôm cổ của mình. Tôi nghĩ anh ấy bị đau họng.)

3. Role-play the meeting with the doctor. Use the cues in 1, 2 or your own health problems.

Gợi ý:

A: Hi, Doctor Thao. (Chào bác sĩ Thảo.)

B: Hi, Hung. (Chào Hùng.)

A: What was Hung’s problem? (Cháu có vấn đề gì?)

B: I was outside all day yesterday. I feel very hot and my face is red. (Cháu đã ở bên ngoài cả ngày hôm qua. Cảm cảm thấy nóng và mặt cháu đỏ.)

A: Let me see. Oh, I think you have a sunburn. (Để tôi xem. Ô, tôi nghĩ bạn bị cháy nắng rồi đấy.)

4. Choose a health problem. Work in groups. Tell your group about the last time you had that problem.

Gợi ý:

A: I had flu two weeks ago.

B: Me too! I felt so weak.

C: Oh. I had a sore throat yesterday.

D: I had toothache. I think I ate too many sweets.

Dịch:

A: Tôi bị cảm cúm cách đây 2 tuần.

B: Tôi cũng thế! Tôi thấy rất mệt.

C: Ồ, tôi bị đau họng vào ngày hôm qua.

D: Tôi bị đau răng. Tôi nghĩ tôi đã ăn quá nhiều kẹo.

5. Listen and circle  the words you hear.

1. Fast food isn't healthy.

3. Obesity is a problem - people are getting fatter.
4. Having a healthy lifestyle is important.
5. Too many sweets give you toothache.

Đáp án:

1. Fast food isn't healthy. (Thức ăn nhanh không tốt cho sức khoẻ.)
2. I have felt sick all day. (Tôi cảm thấy bệnh cả ngày.)
3. Obesity is a problem - people are getting fatter. (Béo phì là một vấn đề - người ta đang mập hơn.)
4. Having a healthy lifestyle is important. (Có một phong cách sống khỏe mạnh là điều rất quan trọng.)
5. Too many sweets give you toothache. (Ăn quá nhiều kẹo làm bạn bị đau răng.)
